During 2 years, Chinese Man toured around the globe with their amazing video-light music show ! From Hong Kong to Bogota, from the Eurockéennes to the Vieilles Charrues, from the Paleo Festival in Switzerland to the Couleur Cafe in Belgium, High Ku, SLY, Zé Mateo and their VJ Tot made their audience swing and move their booties !
In April 2012, they invited Taiwan MC, MC Youthstar, Mr Raf on trombone and the south african rapper Tumi to perform at La Cigale in Paris for this unique show !

«Racing with Chinese Man» is a journey into the life of the french independent label Chinese Man Records. This documentary*
directed by Colin Levêque shows a snapshot of the six months preceeding the release of the album «Racing with
the Sun» and the environment of the band from the search for the album samples to the first gig of the eponym tour !
This documentary takes an interesting look at the music market, its evolution and the position of an independant label.

TAIWAN MC
Taiwan Mc’s adventure began in Paris dnb, dubstep, reggae & electronic undergound scene. Happy
coincidences made him join the Chinese Man’s army in 2011. He recorded the track ‘Miss Chang’
with Chinese Man for the album ‘Racing with the Sun’. From then, Taiwan MC followed the band for
a worldwide tour and 150 shows ! He also features on Deluxe’s album, worked with Tom Fire and is
preparing his debut album for 2013.

TUMI
Powerful MC, Tumi proposes a unique jazzy-world Hip-Hop. In 2001, he joined 3 other musicians to
create the quatuor Tumi & the Volume. In 2006, they recorded their first album and got an immediate
international renown.
In addition to his Volume adventure, he records the track «Ta Bom» with Chinese Man in 2011 and
joins the «Racing with the Sun» tour for 1 month in April 2012.

YOUTHSTAR
Dubstep and Drum&Bass MC, Youthstar began Mcing in London at the age of 12 ! He collaborates
with Elisa do Brasil and many dj’s and producers before joining the famous Dirtyphonics band and
meetung a big success with a crazy d&b show.
Youthstar joins the chinese crew regularly and could not miss the occasion of being on stage with
them at La Cigale.

MISTER RAF
Mr Raf travels with his trombone around the globe and plays for many bands, including the hilarious
french collectiv Raoul Petite... in 2012, he joined the Chinese Man’s crew for a whole year of shows !
His musical presence gave the show a new dimension.
Both rhythmic and melodic, Mister Raf brings a new color to the trio compositions and electrifies the
crowd with his trombone.

VJ TOT - FRED & ANNABELLE
Fred & Annabelle joined the adventure since its first step in 2004, they direct the videos and create
visual data for the «Racing with the Sun» tour !
VJ Tot processes all the visuals collected and becomes the conductor of the images on stage. He
brings his creativity, playing with many cameras and mixing visuals and live videos on stage.
