Shake-A-Leg (SAL) is the monthly club-night of Jerker Kluge and Tobias Kirmayer in Munich. After two years doing SAL they thought it is time to manifest the concept of the party on a compilation. Both Jerker
and Tobias are not only local DJs but certainly enrich the worldwide Funk,
Soul and Jazz community with their work.
Jerker Kluge is a professional bass player, composer and producer. He plays in various band projects (Hi-Fly Orchestra, The Boogoos) and also leads his own bands like Deep Jazz, Radio Utopia, to name a few.
Tobias Kirmayer runs his own record label Tramp Records since 2004. He built himself a strong reputation within the worldwide independent Funk, Soul and Jazz scene. He is also a professionel DJ who tours regularly
worldwide.
Shake-A-Leg offers an exciting, colorful mixture of different styles. No matter if it is soulful HipHop, Jazz, Afrobeat or Funk, the essence is the Groove. You need a proof for that? Well, no problem. Listen to Breakestra
(along with MCs of Jurassic 5), the New York Afrobeat Combo Albino!, legendary Jazz-singer Eddie Jefferson or the Boogoos (just to name a few) and you get the confirmation.
Also included are some little-known collector´s items like Outlines by Ernst Arno or the Joe Thomas Group!
